How to fix a sideways PDF

  1. Drop the file. Any PDF works — scans, exports, print jobs.
  2. Choose the direction. 90° clockwise (right), 90° counter-clockwise (left), or 180° for upside-down pages.
  3. Click "Rotate PDF". All pages are rotated in about a second.
  4. Save. The corrected PDF downloads with the rotation baked in — it stays fixed on any device you open it on.

The rotation applies to every page in the document, which is what you want for scans that all came out the same way.

Why rotate PDFs locally?

🏢

Sideways files are often the sensitive ones

Documents that need rotating are usually scans: passports, ID cards, signed contracts, medical letters. Uploading those to a rotate service means handing a stranger your identity documents. Locally, they never leave your machine.

One second, no queue

Rotation is one of the simplest PDF operations — yet online tools still make you upload the whole file and wait. Locally it's a single click and a one-second save.

🔓

Rotation that sticks

Some viewers let you rotate on screen but forget it when you close the file. This tool writes the new orientation into the document itself, so it's permanent.

🕵️

Verifiable privacy

Watch the Network tab in your browser's developer tools while you rotate — zero requests after page load. The file physically cannot be uploaded, because nothing is configured to receive it.

Rotating PDFs — common questions

Does the rotation stay saved?

Yes. The rotation is written into each page's metadata in the downloaded file, so it opens correctly in Adobe Reader, Preview, browsers and mobile viewers — not just in this tool.

Can I rotate only one page instead of all of them?

This tool rotates every page at once, which covers the common case of scans or print jobs where all pages share the same wrong orientation. If you need per-page control, extract the pages you want rotated with the Split tool, rotate them here, then merge back.

Will rotating change my file's quality?

No. Rotation only changes each page's orientation value — text, images and formatting are untouched.

What's the catch with "free"?

None. No account, no watermark, no daily limit. Processing happens on your device, so there's no server bill to recover from you.
